Preventing Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)

My personhood is married to my advocacy for sudden cardiac arrest prevention. I served as the executive director for Cardiac on Campus — a Madison-based nonprofit — for two years after serving as the deputy director for one year. I now sit on the organization’s Board of Advisors, lending my expertise in nonprofit operations and philanthropy.

Sudden cardiac arrest is a deadly affliction that can affect anyone at any time, no matter their age, race, gender, or any other factor. The high mortality rate for sudden cardiac arrest is first and foremost a policy failure.

One of the most impactful instances on my development as an advocate have been my trips to Washington, DC on behalf of Cardiac on Campus. During each visit, I engage with the community and learned about their unique needs for cardiac arrest prevention. Having the ability to actually go to DC and speak with the people that live there better informed my future actions than anything else has, and I look forward to continuing my work in the nation’s capital in future years.

Civic Health

Since 2022, I have served as an election worker in Wisconsin.

Each year, I help lead a march from the Washington Monument to the White House, where we teach CPR on the sidewalk to passerby.
